Kipahulu Back-Side Organic Farm Tour

Aloha,

Tomorrow morning starts a full day of fun and learning combined.

It's been a lot of work coordinating all the various logistics involved to take 100 people, 4 Mini-vans, support vehicles, not to mention the Staff of Volunteers. Many thanks to the various Generous Grants and Sponsors to pull this off.

The willingness of the four Farms to open their "Homes" to this collection of interested strangers is amazing enough, but the lessons learned should help to spread even further the consciousness that our lives need to change for the better.

We plan to have video and pictures of the events to share.

The problem is the sites just can't be reproduced on film the way it feels to be there. The sounds, smells and tastes will definitely be missed out.

It's amazing how much just the smell of the plants and the Aina "land" add to the whole experience.

I know there will still be work involved for me as a volunteer and yet I look forward to taking my body and mind to a completely different surrounding.

After this, the Maui Aloha Aina Association, a 501c3 Non-Profit will then start the planning full steam ahead for the "Annual Body and Soil Health Conference" held on Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii in January.

For more on the Conference, please visit www.MauiGrown.org to read about it, plan your vacations around it and sign up for it. This years event is one not to be missed!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Follow me www.twitter.com/EmpowerMaui under my user name EmpowerMaui. Maybe I'll have coverage to give some updates during tomorrows trip.

I can't wait for the lunch of locally grown and produced foods for both Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians.

I stopped and talked to the Hawaii Carpenters Union and did a short video about their protesting Walgreen's use of out of State contractors and paying sub-standard wages. Here is the shortened URL to see the article and video on my EmpowerMaui.com site.

My Great Twitter Giveaway

Aloha to all,

I've been working fast and furious to get the links and sites right to be able to give away a book on "How to make your own Energy and even build it cheap enough to sell to others and make a profit" (not the name of the book) and am really close based on my testing. In fact I think it's ready to go after a few more test tries.

My plan is to give away this book that has had National Recognition to one of my many Twitter followers. In fact if you don't have a Twitter account set up,  you won't even be able to register for it.

I am going to make a couple of fine tunings and double checks before I tweet the url of the actual sign-up site to my Twitter follows, (my 2 year old is going to be in a beauty pageant tonight so I am a bit rushed to do too many things at once and want to double check myself before sending everyone to the wrong place).

What this means for those of you not on Twitter is you still have time to get on Twitter and create your own Twitter account. You can then follow me at EmpowerMaui on Twitter and will get the info on how to sign up and possibly get this no-strings attached copy of a great selling book.

The strange thing about Twitter is:

  • Many don't have a clue what it is all about
  • Some do and just refuse to look at it
  • Some just dislike it for the lack of a stronger word
  • And some, like me, absolutely love it for it's potential.

I think most  just don't realize what it really is and can, is and will be capable of.

So if you fall in the category that has a Twitter account already, very good go look at it and follow me. Or if you are willing to get one, then start following my Twitters and you could just be the lucky one to get the book.

In the meantime, I have found some great books on Home Energy that I hope to write something about and put up more info on my website at www.EmpowerMaui.com very soon.

Mahalo

Jim

P.S. Look forward to my farming book give away coming soon. I have so many really good authors to choose from that it will be hard to nail it down and any suggestions via twitter or on my twitter direct message are welcome. I know I have a strong family farm following.
